The administrative center of the municipality is the village of Stryn, which had a population of 2,177 in 2009. The municipality is located in the innermost part of the Nordfjord. Some other Stryn towns include Loen, Innvik, Olden, and Flo. Agriculture, forestry, fruit growing, animal husbandry for fur, small manufacturing industries, tourism and service trades provide the main occupations. A wide river enters the city from the east after winding through the fertile Stryn Valley , from Oppstrynsvatn. On the shore of the lake, the National Center ofJostedalsbreen Park is located.
